Join us on December 6th for Handel’s masterwork oratorio, ‘Messiah’.
There will be two full performances at 15:00 and 18:00. Click here for information of the matinee show.
Composed in 1741, with text from the King James Bible, and premiered in London at the Covent Garden Theatre in 1743, this work has gone on to become one of the true masterpieces in the choral canon. Depicting the prophecy, life, death and resurrection of Jesus, the work includes many hugely popular numbers in their own right, including For Unto Us a Child is Born, And the Glory of the Lord, and of course, the majestic Hallelujah chorus.
We are joined for this performance by internationally renowned vocal octet VOCES8.
We are performing an 80 minute version of this work, to be presented without an interval, to a socially distanced audience.
We’re delighted that our friends VOCES8 will be streaming this concert as part of their ‘Live from London’ Christmas season, so that those unable to be with us in person will still be able to experience this world-class performance in their very own homes.
The concert will be available from 7pm on the 11th December.
