In an enticing combination of artists and repertoire, the celebrated string section of the illustrious English Chamber Orchestra, directed by its gifted leader Stephanie Gonley, plays an accomplished Symphony by the 15-year-old Mendelssohn, Vaughan Williams’s timeless Tallis Fantasia, Elgar’s wistful Serenade and the inexhaustibly tuneful Serenade by Dvorák.
