A very Royal occasion for the English Chamber Orchestra

The English Chamber Orchestra was honoured to be participating in the Royal Wedding ceremony of Prince Harry and Ms Meghan Markle at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle (19 May).

This was a wonderful event and it was good to catch up with our friends from the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and the Philharmonia, together with the wonderful cellist, VC Young Artist Sheku Kanneh-Mason and soprano Elin Manahan Thomas. The programme included Boyce’s Symphony No.1, Paradis’ Sicilienne, Handel’s Eternal Source Of Light Divine (Birthday Ode For Queen Anne) HWV 74 and Schubert’s Ave Maria and was conducted by Christopher Warren-Green.

The CD of the ceremony and music of the Royal Wedding is now available on Decca Records. Decca will make a donation per album sold to support the charitable work of The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and The Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
