The English Chamber Orchestra & Music Society is the original charity brought together in the early 1960s through the good offices of Leopold de Rothschild to further the activities of the, then young, English Chamber Orchestra in its concert giving activities in the UK and abroad. The Society is honoured by the patronage of HRH The Prince of Wales. To achieve its aims it raises funds both through the concerts it promotes and by corporate and individual donations. It addition to its concert giving activities the Society has recently been most supportive of the Orchestra’s outreach work both in the needy boroughs of London and the provinces.

The English Chamber Orchestra Charitable Trust was inaugurated in 1997. Its aim is to promote artistic and innovative concerts in both London and the provinces, many of them to have an emphasis on encouraging young people to realise the great joy of classical music making.
